Located near Puerto Plata, Sosua offers some
of the best places for diving. Not only is home to countless
varieties of tropical fish and marine life, but whale sharks, manta
rays and dolphins make their appearance at these beaches. Deep reefs

while the more advanced can dive only minutes from the area. Among
the most popular places are Las Palmitas, the Airport wall, Five
Stones and The Pyramid. One of the most popular beaches in the
region is in Sosua Beach, a privilege of nature, perfect not only to
enjoy a pleasant experience but also a paradise for diving
enthusiasts.
Sosua is one of the most visited places by tourists
from cities such as Santiago,
La
Vega and other places of the Dominican Republic where many families
built summer homes for years. With the passage of time Sosua evolved
into one of the places where tourism development coexists with the
village atmosphere, with great diversity of people- some from
different parts of the world have endorsed this piece of land where
there are great options for entertainment to be enjoyed any time of
year.
Several diving schools are based on Sosua Beach, such as Scuba
Elite DR, Northern Coast Diving and Big Blue Diving. Most diving
shops in Sosua are really well equipped with professional staff and
good condition boats to ferry you to the diving sites.
Its development was marked by the growth of small hotels, some
family businesses are becoming a real option in the peak moment.
Some are currently closed, but have opened new options to give new
life to a destination offering impressive landscapes throughout the
region, which is synonymous with having a good time in the Dominican
Republic.
But Sosua is not just tourism, it is also a thriving
community with great development in livestock greatly influenced by
the Jewish settlement that makes the mid-forties was established
there by planting a strong legacy, first cultural and human and
Secondly in terms of investment, where there are two companies
currently known as the Industrial and Industrial Dairy cattle, or
better yet Productos Sosua, one of the fundamental axes of the area
economy for a long time. Now tourism has shifted the economy, making
Sosua one of the best holiday vacationing areas offering luxury
Dominican
Republic villas
for sale and also rentals.
The community has a synagogue and a museum
that displays the settlement which has a long history of work and
sacrifice. Charamicos is the traditional zone of people in the
community while El Batey is the center of shops, restaurants, hotels
and banks in an environment where homes coexist with commercial and
tourist development. The catering for this community is diverse but
has two key elements restaurants in its downtown streets or at the
edge of cliffs, each with a special and unique flavor.

beaches, reefs, and crystal-clear waters of Sosua have made it the
best diving town in the Dominican Republic's North Coast. Long gone

destination ( still unspoiled ) offering impressive beach and ocean
