Yacht party in Sosua beach, by Macorix. Last September 6th was more than just a sunny day with bright sky and gorgeous blue waters. Local Rum producer Macorix hosted a yacht party in Sosua Bay, with visitors anchoring numerous vessels around the large Tip Top Catamaran, which played cool music and served drinks all day long. The beach itself had a lot of visitors, both foreign and local, and the atmosphere was so relaxed and fun-filled for many. Golden Treasures`s yacht rental fleet was present in the event, introducing the new 48 feet Viking, a 2-bedroom yacht of high capacity, available for fishing and sailing party tours in Sosua.

Sosua is soon becoming a busier yacht destination, with a larger fleet of rental boats that include top brands such as Vikings and Hatteras. The bay is a common area for fast boats and banana boats that service tour operators and diving schools since decades in Sosua. Macorix Yacht Party is the first event that puts together all yacht owners of the North Coast, of which some also own villas in the area, or large companies with important investments.

With the opening of the new Amber Cove Cruise Ship Port by Carnival Cruise lines on October 9th, Puerto Plata and its beach town areas are expecting an increase in tourism activity, which will benefit the region. Sosua Beach and its town are taking steps towards the organization of its streets and community to be able to receive the incoming influx of new visitors from the new port.
