A new market emerges<\/b><\/p>

A high percentage of tourists coming to\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Sosua<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0are staying in self catering\u00a0\u00a0rentals\u00a0\u00a0instead of the usual hotels. Back in the 1980`s and 90`s\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Sosua\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0had a lot of hotels, about 70% of those are now closed. Villas\u00a0<\/b>in\u00a0Sea Horse Ranch<\/b>\u00a0are among the top luxury properties for rent and sale in the North Coast of the island, with prices that average US$1,000 per night and higher.\u00a0El Choco<\/b>\u00a0used to be a high end\u00a0\u00a0rental\u00a0\u00a0community that slowly was moving away from\u00a0\u00a0rentals\u00a0\u00a0because neighbors complained of noisy renters and most\u00a0\u00a0rentals\u00a0\u00a0are now sold and out of the\u00a0market.\u00a0Perla Marina<\/b>\u00a0still has some nice properties, though most are mid-level to affordable, not the top luxury ones.<\/p>\n
