The top ten Sosua restaurant list for summer 2018<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Brings us an updated view during the low season months, just before the next mid season kicks in. While most of the traditional players still remain on the top list, there are some that no longer are in service pending renovation or new owners that reopen their door.<\/p>\n

1-\u00a0Bologna<\/a><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Tel. 809-571-1454; Calle Alejo Martinez #33, El Batey. International cuisine, lot of Italian dishes. Perhaps the most elegant setting, the restaurant has an air conditioned VIP area, a wood-fed pizza oven and delicious pastry area. For many years, pizza at Bologna has been considered superior to many others. They also offer excellent breakfast at reasonable price. Happy hour at the bar is worth a visit, nice atmosphere. Top dish for us: Lasagna.<\/p>\n

2-\u00a0Waterfront<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>Tel. 809-571-3024; Next to Playa Alicia, Sosua. Traditionally, The Waterfront ranks high on food, staff and location. Prices a bit higher than most, though the view of Alicia Beach makes it a top choice. Delivery to the chaise lounges by the beach is a plus for true R&R while in Sosua. Our top dish there: Garlic Mahi filet, with saut\u00e9ed vegetables.<\/p>\n

3-\u00a0Ottimo<\/strong><\/span><\/a> Tel. 809-571-3518; Sosua Plaza, El Batey. This is a rare gem of a restaurant, set in the back of Sosua Plaza, very intimate. The chef ranks among the very top, food is superb, prices a bit higher than the others. It is definitely very Italian, with lot of care for detail. Top dish for us: Lobster ( Thermidor ).<\/p>\n

Ottimo feels very classy at night<\/p><\/div>\n

4-\u00a0Casa 21<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>Tel. 829-342-8089; Calle Piano, Los Tavares Sosua. Casa 21 feels very high end, an European restaurant within a deluxe BnB that bears the same name. Foodies must try it when visiting Sosua, we loved the Red Snapper filet. This restaurant tops the list in many review sites.<\/p>\n

5-\u00a0Restaurant Maria<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>Tel. 829-961-4455; The newer gastronomic haven of the Ocean Village community, beautifully designed, offering deluxe club amenities. Its location offers fantastic ocean vistas from every corner; Menu is international,\u00a0 we recommend the seafood, Eric always has it fresh.\"restaurant<\/a><\/p>\n

Restaurant Maria is oceanfront, with pool and Jacuzzis<\/span><\/p>\n

6- Nelson`s Bistro<\/strong><\/span><\/a> Tel. 809-571-3253; Right across Pola Supermarket. Offering an exquisite menu of international master chef dishes in a very delightful atmosphere and d\u00e9cor. Playground for kids and event saloon right next to it, a must visit to try the chef specials and enjoy with friends under the veranda.<\/p>\n

The veranda at Nelson`s Lounge in Sosua is perfect to enjoy a cocktail with friends.<\/p><\/div>\n

7- Al Porto<\/strong><\/span><\/a> Tel. 809-571-2166; Inside Sosua Ocean Village.\u00a0Located inside Sosua Ocean Village. The views from this restaurant are awesome, the layout is the best in town. They have an Infiniti swimming pool flanked by gazebos, staff is great and menu varied. Steak there was fantastic last time we visited.<\/p>\n

Al Porto is perfect for a romantic dinner, specially at night.<\/p><\/div>\n

8-\u00a0Sinatra`s<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>Tel. 809-571-2188; Pedro Clisante, across small Playero Supermarket. This lively restaurant is in the heart of Sosua ( where PJ used to be), offers great steak and seafood and also has live music nights and karaoke. Very cold beer, try it.<\/p>\n

Sinatra`s in Sosua also offers live music and karaoke nights<\/p><\/div>\n

9- Baileys<\/a><\/strong><\/span> Tel. 809-571-3085; Next to Banco Popular, facing the central park. One of the top spots in Sosua, offers great pizza, pasta, international dishes and Dominican food. Recommended place for a cold beer, Coffee and cocktails.<\/p>\n

10-Margot`s<\/span><\/strong> Tel. 809-571-2033; Alejo Martinez, El Batey. An elegantly casual atmosphere with international menu, located in Alejo Martinez street. The menu offers many Italian dishes, also American. Try the mignon with mushroom sauce.<\/p>\n
